They say that things start to change when you have a baby and there is some truth to that. The things that you can do when you were still single, you cannot do now without your baby present in all of your outings.
A lot of parents rarely take their newborn child outside because of fear that they might get sick. But, it is actually a good idea for them to go outside, simply because it trains their bodies to become stronger and to also hear the sounds in their immediate environment as well.
According to Lauren Hunter, the coauthor of the book, “Moms on Call Guide to Basic Baby Care”, said that so long as the weather outside is okay- meaning, there are no extreme temperatures, then you can pretty much whip out your baby stroller and tag your baby along with you.
In fact, if you do so, not only will it relieve you of your stress (since you’re going outside for a walk), but it will also do the same thing for your newborn as well.
Hunter just cautions, though, that you shouldn’t bring your baby immediately outside. Allow them to be in the world for about 2-3 weeks before you can bring them outside fully, like to the grocery store or any other place.
For first-time parents, Dr. Sarah Klagsburn, a child psychiatrist, recommends that you bring someone along with you, especially if you are feeling anxious about bringing your kid outdoors.
When Going Around Town
A lot of parents are wary that their babies might come across some sick kids along the way. This is especially true when they are trying to go to the baby’s physician since it is most likely that the children there are suffering from some sort of illness.
Well, you cannot really control the people that are going to places, which is why you should put it upon yourself to bring a mild hand sanitizer with you at all times. This is just to ensure that your baby is in good hands and so that they will not experience any problems.
Before you touch your baby when you come into these places, always put hand sanitizer before touching any of your baby’s belongings. This is to ensure that you will not bring any infection to your baby.
If you and your family are going on a trip, you want to make sure that you bring with you a baby carrier or a stroller to help protect them from the elements. Furthermore, you want to position them in such a way that they are far away from curious bystanders.
When going outside with your baby, make sure that you do not go out with the notion of bringing them with you in the cold season. That is because they are going to be highly susceptible to airborne diseases if you do.
Is it Safe to Travel by Air?
It is actually pretty safe to do so. If anything, your baby should be in an area where germs are not rampant in the airlines.
